H.S. FOOTBALL | Trinity Football Goes Back-To-Back As State Champions

The Trinity Shamrocks completed their second-straight perfect season, going 15-0 en-route to the 2017 6-A State Title over rival St. Xavier at UK’s Kroger Field on Sunday. The final score was 38-21 in front of nearly 10,000 fans.

The Rocks now have 25 State Titles.

Trinity leads the all-time series with St. X 45-37-2 and has won 14 of the last 15 match-ups.

Trinity senior wide receiver, Rondale Moore, accounted for 288 yards and three touchdowns and was named MVP of the game. Moore is committed to play at the University of Texas.

Trinity quarterback Nick Bohn finished 19/26 for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Per the Courier-Journal, he finished with a completion rate of 79.7 percent for the season, breaking the state record of 75.1 percent set by Leslie County’s Tim Couch in 1994.

The two met in the regular season at Lousiville’s Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium on September 29, where Trinity shut-out the Tigers 28-0.
