H.S. FOOTBALL | St. Xavier Names Bowling Green's Kevin Wallace Next Head Coach

02/05/2018 02:54 PM

St. Xavier High School in Louisville has announced that they have hired Kevin Wallace to be their 19th head football coach.

Wallace replaces Will Wolford, who stepped down in December. The Tigers finished 12-3 in 2017, falling to Trinity 38-21 in the 6A state championship game.

Wallace comes to St. X from Bowling Green High School, where he compiled a 299-102 overall record, including Kentucky’s second-longest win streak of 48 games from the 2011-2014 seasons. During his tenure, the Purples captured five state championships (2011-2013, 2015-2016), appeared in eight championship games, and have won 10 regional titles.

Wallace will enter the 2018 season with the 11th most career KHSAA coaching wins.

Bowling Green finished 10-3 in 2017, falling to rival South Warren in the third round of the playoffs.
