HS FOOTBALL | Shawnee competing despite low numbers

09/22/2016 07:02 PM

The Shawnee (Louisville) High School football team is battling more than just its opponents in 2016.

Shawnee had to forfeit its first game of the year because it did not have enough players. The team’s second and third games of the year were losses.

Now, the Golden Eagles have around 30 players on the roster and will have its home opener this Friday night against Eminence.

Even though the Shawnee football team is on a 19-game losing streak that dates back to the 2014 season, head coach Jason Wyatt is making sure his players learn valuable life lessons throughout the season.
