H.S. FOOTBALL | Newport Central Catholic Excited for Upcoming Season

08/04/2017 10:06 AM

The first Friday night of the high school football regular season is only two weeks from now.

One of the teams counting down toward it is Newport Central Catholic.

The Thoroughbreds had a solid 2016 season, making it to the quarterfinal round of the KHSAA football state tournament, where they fell to Holy Cross.

This year, the team is using its recent playoff losses, like the one last year, as motivation:

The Thoroughbreds open up the regular season at Scott on August 18. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
