H.S. FOOTBALL | Kickoff Kentucky Featuring Waggener

08/03/2017 01:58 PM

The Waggener Wildcats finished the 2016 season at 6-5, just 2-4 in the region and 2-3 in the district. This season, Head Coach Jordan Johnson said they expect to be “top five in the state” this year.

Johnson said as they continue to build the program, this team has some of the best team chemistry he has ever seen. They have plenty of talent, too. Led behind seniors Tahj Rice (a Duke commit) and Jairus Brents who has a host of D-1 offers, Johnson admits they’re in pretty good shape, though they’ll have a different look to them this season on the field.

Waggner begins the 2017 season on the road at Lexington Christian on August 19. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. eastern.
