H.S. FOOTBALL | Kickoff Kentucky Featuring Monroe County

08/10/2017 05:48 PM

The Monroe County Falcons are counting down the days until they get to open the 2017 regular season.

The Falcons begin the year against Trigg County on Friday, August 18.

This year will be the second year for the Falcons under head coach Billy Joe Murphy.

“We tried to work hard this winter,” said Murphy, “get out of our comfort zone, push ourselves to where we think we can get to every single day in the weight room and on the field… And they’ve done that in the winter. They’ve done that in the summer. And I’m proud of them.”

Last year, Monroe County finished the season 3-8 overall, falling to DeSales in the first round of the KHSAA 2A Playoffs.
