H.S. FOOTBALL | Kickoff Kentucky Featuring DeSales

07/26/2017 08:07 AM

The DeSales Colts finished 10-3 last season before falling to the eventual State Champion CAL squad, a regular-season rematch they admit they’re looking forward to.

The Colts are enjoying year two with their brand new facilities, and they have a new face on the sideline this season.

Ty Scroggins, who was head coach at Louisville Central for ten seasons, winning five titles in that span, stepped down after falling to Belfry in the state final last season, citing he wanted to spend more time with his kids. His son, now a freshman quarterback at DeSales, will be on the sideline with his dad. Scroggins will join Harold Davis’s staff working on the defensive side of the ball.

The current group of seniors were freshmen when DeSales won their last state title back in 2014, and said they saw the example of how “fiery” those seniors were and they hope to replicate it.

DeSales opens up against Ballard on August 18 at home. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. eastern.
