H.S. FOOTBALL | Highlands Excited to Put 2016 Season in Rear View Mirror

08/02/2017 04:07 PM

The Highlands Bluebirds are hard at work, practicing for the upcoming high school football season.

They are looking forward to putting the 2016 season behind them.

Last year, Highlands finished 3-8 overall, its first losing season in 60 years. In fact, the Bluebirds did not win a playoff game for the first time since 1991.

“I’m sure they hear it,” said head coach Brian Weinrich.

Weinrich says the players cannot dwell on it though. They must figure out what went wrong and learn from it in 2017:

The team will have a chance to open up its season on a positive note when it faces Cooper in its regular season opener August 18.
