Covington Catholic High School football head coach Eddie Eviston has been nominated by the Cincinnati Bengals for the Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award.
Each NFL team is able to nominate one high school coach for their “character and integrity, leadership and dedication to the community, commitment to player health and safety and on-field success.”
This past year, Eviston led the Colonels to the 5A KHSAA State Championship, where they beat Madison Southern 49-13. With the win, CovCath finished the year undefeated (15-0), the first undefeated season in Covington Catholic football history.
The winner of the Don Shula Award will be announced during the 2018 Pro Bowl on Sunday, Jan. 28.
