H.S. BASKETBALL | King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic Begins Tuesday
12/19/2017 02:27 PM

The annual King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic begins Tuesday at Fairdale High School.
This year’s high school boys basketball tournament features 16 teams, some of which are from Kentucky, while others are from out of state.
The first round of games will take place Tuesday and Wednesday at the school. The tournament will conclude on Saturday night at 7:30 ET with the tournament championship game inside Fairdale’s west gym.
Last year, the Trinity took home the title of “King of the Bluegrass” champion.
This year, the Shamrocks will begin their quest to repeat starting on Tuesday at 7:30 ET against Anderson County.
Anderson County will of course be hoping to beat Trinity Tuesday, but it is not the only one. Another team hoping to outlast the Shamrocks, and every other team in the tournament, is Fairdale.
The host school’s boys basketball program is currently 5-1 on the season and will begin its quest to be named the “King of the Bluegrass” on Tuesday at 6 ET when it plays Bowling Green.
