On the eve of the KHSAA Boy’s State Tournament, the highest individual honors were given to the top performing senior boy and girl basketball players from around the state.

Carson Williams and Erin Boley were crowned as the latest Mr. and Miss Basketball at a special ceremony in Lexington on Tuesday night. Williams, an Owen County senior and Northern Kentucky University commit, has averaged more than 25 points per game this season to go with more than 10 rebounds per game. Boley also averaged a double double with 24.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. She is committed to play for Notre Dame this fall and led Elizabethtown to three straight Sweet Sixteen appearances.

The Owen County boys’ season came to an end after a region tournament loss to South Oldham. Elizabethtown girls lost in the Sweet Sixteen to Butler Traditional out of Louisville who ultimately won the state title.
