HS BASKETBALL | Jo Griffin ready to be the next great walk-on at Louisville

03/02/2017 08:30 AM

Louisville basketball fans are very familiar walk-on guard David Levitch. The U of L senior has earned valuable minutes this season, and is regularly praised by Rick Pitino for his pass-first mentality.

Levitch went to high school in Oldham County, and in a recent trip to one of his alma mater’s basketball game, noticed a player he thought had college potential.

Levitch than advised the Cards coaching staff to check out South Oldham guard Jo Griffin. Rick Pitino took Levitch’s recommendation, watched Griffin play, and offered him a preferred walk-on spot with the Cards. As Gary Fogle explains, the decision for Griffin was a no-brainer.
