H.S. BASKETBALL | Fern Creek Wins Louisville Invitational Tournament

The Fern Creek Tigers defeated the Trinity Shamrocks 65-58 in overtime to win the Louisville Invitational Tournament; their first L.I.T. win in school history. The Tigers and Rocks have met three times this season, FC winning two. Trinity’s only losses are to Fern Creek. Both teams now have an 18-2 record.

To get to the championship game, Fern Creek began by defeating Fairdale on Wednesday, followed by a victory over Eastern on Friday.

The all-tournament team included two Fern Creek players in Anthony Wales and Clint Wickliffe. Fern Creek’s Chance Moore was tournament MVP.

Fern Creek now sits atop the sixth region with a 16-2 overall record. They are undefeated in their district and region. The Tigers are back in action Tuesday at Jeffersontown at 7:30 p.m.
