HS BASKETBALL | Doss High School has tuned out the doubters all season

03/15/2016 10:00 AM

The Kentucky High School state basketball tournament starts Wednesday afternoon, and features a select few teams making consecutive trips to Rupp Arena. One of those teams is Doss High School, the back-to-back 6th Region Champs out of Louisville under second year head coach Tony Williams.

Coach Williams’ ties to the program are stronger than normal, he played for the Dragons in high school before playing in a Louisville uniform in his college career. He took over as head coach in 2014, and inherited a team with tons of promise. He turned that promise into a sweet sixteen appearance last season, but were knocked out in the round of eight by Covington Catholic.

The Dragons reset after the 2015 tournament, and entering this season were largely counted out of contention for the 6th region crown, and have been proving doubters wrong ever since.
