The Bowling Green Purples became just the second school in KHSAA history to win both the football State Championship and basketball State Championship in the same school year on Sunday when they beat Cooper 67-56.

The Purples were in the Sweet 16 for the fourth straight season and had lost to the eventual State Champions the past three years. They were led on Sunday by Zion Harmon who finished with 18 points and Terry Taylor who finished with 16 and took home the Sweet 16 MVP award.
