H.S. BASEBALL | St. Xavier's Future Looks Bright with Young Pitchers

The St. X Tigers are having another memorable baseball season.

They are ranked No. 1 in the state of Kentucky and have an overall record of 33-2.

St. X plays Pleasure Ridge Park (28-6) on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET in the first round of the 2018 Whitaker Bank/KHSAA Baseball State Tournament.

The Tigers, as it seems to be the case each year, have a lot of depth on their roster.

In fact, there are two sophomore pitchers, Max Bergmann and Nathan Waldridge, who have even been able to see some action on the mound this year.

“I just thank my coaches for giving me an opportunity to let me play, “ said Bergmann.

Spectrum News’ Gary Fogle recently stopped by a St. X practice to talk with the two young pitchers:

Andrew Chernoff

Andrew is a sports anchor and sports managing editor for Spectrum News. He covers sports all across the state of Kentucky for Sports Night, which airs weeknights at 6:30 and 10:30 on Spectrum News.
