High School Sports | Model School's Josh Smith wins world archery title

08/14/2017 02:14 PM

Model Laboratory School senior Josh Smith is the best in the world among male high school archers. Smith earned the title during the World Outdoor 3D Championships in Seven Springs, Pennsylvania over the weekend.

Smith not only finished first in the high school male division; he also finished second among all males at the competition. He says the outdoor competition presented some new challenges for he and his teammates, so they had a unique way of training.

In all, four students represented Model at the world championships. Seniors Jackson Dye and Bethany Hudson each finished in the top ten of their divisions. Leah Smith finished fifth in the middle school division.

This year marks the second year for the Model School archery team.
