Rick Pitino has always had great success recruiting the New York/New Jersey area. In fact some of his best players at Louisville have come from that area. Earl Clark, Russ Smith, Taquan Dean and Edgar Sosa to name a few. Now there is another name that is scrawled on the Louisville head coach’s 2015 recruiting list: Isaiah Briscoe.

Briscoe hails from Union, NJ and is a scoring point guard that has been shooting up the 2015 recruiting rankings. The five-star guard is currently rated as the 20th best player in the class, according to the ESPN Top 100. Briscoe is currently in Colorado Springs, CO trying out for the US Mens Under 18 National Team along with a few other Cardinal targets.

In an interview with Matt Gravett at Zagsblog.com, Briscoe said that “Pitino is a great guy. He’s a Hall of Fame coach and the things he says, you can believe it because you can see it for yourself. He’s not lying and is very laid-back guy.”
Briscoe went on to say that playing time was definitely important to him and that “[Pitino] said that he’s never promised a freshman that he’ll play right away, but he promised me that I’ll play. He didn’t promise a starting position, but he said that I’ll get in.”

Nick Coffey from thecardinalconnect.com joined Bruce Snyder in studio to break down the Cards chances of landing this prized recruit.
