GOLF | UofL, UK Rivalry Continues in Upcoming Golf Scramble

Inside the Lines Training, Inc. is getting ready to host its inaugural Cards vs. Cats Golf Scramble.

The event will take place on Monday, July 2 at Nevel Meade Golf Course. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. ET and teams will tee-off at 9 a.m. ET.

Former Cards who have agreed to participate include Michael Bush, Tony Williams and Jamon Brown.

Meanwhile, former Wildcats who have agreed to participate include Keenan Burton, Garry Williams and Alex Poythress.

Inside the Lines Training, Inc. is a “non-profit organization whose mission is to enrich student athletes with tools to excel academically, while enhancing characteristics of leadership, responsibility and work ethic. They seek to establish these principles while creating a strong athletic foundation through sports specific training.”

The goal of the golf scramble is to support programs that assist local youth athletics through “education, leadership development and physical training.”

Inside the Lines Training, Inc. co-founder and executive director Anthony Richardson stopped by Sports Night on Thursday. He spoke with Andrew Chernoff about the upcoming event:

Andrew Chernoff

Andrew is a sports anchor and sports managing editor for Spectrum News. He covers sports all across the state of Kentucky for Sports Night, which airs weeknights at 6:30 and 10:30 on Spectrum News. Andrew was a sports anchor and reporter at KFDM/KBTV in Beaumont, Texas for four years before making the move back home to the Midwest. He is originally from Carmel, Indiana and majored in broadcast journalism and political science at Syracuse University.

When he’s not on the air or in the field covering sports, you can likely find Andrew playing golf, watching IndyCar and Formula 1 races, or exploring the state of Kentucky. His favorite sport is open-wheel racing. In fact, he has not missed an Indianapolis 500 since the early 2000s.
