Four Reds are National League All-Stars

Four Cincinnati Reds will take the field with the best players in the game. Johnny Cueto, Todd Frazier, Devin Mesoraco and Aroldis Chapman have been named National League All-Stars. Cueto, Frazier and Chapman were all voted in by the players, while Mesoraco was named to the team by the NL team’s manager, St. Louis’ Mike Matheny. It’s Chapman’s third straight appearance in the All-Star game. Cueto, Frazier and Mesoraco will all be making their first appearances.

“The thing that stood out beyond the obvious excitement of the players who made the club was the excitement behind them from their teammates,” Price said. “I really believe in that. We should be pulling for each other and be excited for each other – not just individually but collectively for what we’re trying to do here with the Reds.

Frazier shared his excitement on Twitter:

As of now, none of the Reds players have been named starters but Cueto or Chapman could be called on to pitch.

The 2014 All-Star game will be played on July 15 at 8 p.m. at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
