Five additional Louisville players, signees selected during final day of MLB Draft

On Wednesday, Louisville infielder Sutton Whiting and left-handed pitchers Josh Rogers and Robert Strader were among a group of five Cardinals selected during the final day of the 2015 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
During Dan McDonnell’s nine years as head coach, Louisville has produced 52 Major League Baseball draft selections, including a school record 10 in 2010 and eight more in 2014.
Here’s a breakdown of the 2015 draftees:
RHP Kyle Funkhouser (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest HS)
1st Round – 35th overall – Los Angeles Dodgers
LHP Josh Rogers (New Albany, Ind./New Albany HS)
11th Round – 333rd overall – New York Yankees
LHP Robert Strader (Louisville, Ky./Eastern HS)
12th Round – 373rd overall – Baltimore Orioles
INF Sutton Whiting (New Wilmington, Pa./Louisville Ballard HS)
24th Round – 713th overall – Chicago Cubs
