FC Cincinnati improved their win streak to three games on Saturday by defeating Toronto FC II 1-0 in front of a crowd of 18,224. The win gives Cincinnati a 4-4-3 record as they move into fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
FCC striker Danni Konig scored in the 18th minute with a header off a cross by left back Tyler Polak. The goal was one of just three shots in the first half and the only one on target. Konig joined the club earlier this month and is now second in goals for the team this season after scoring three goals in the last two games. Defensively, FCC held Toronto scoreless. The shutout was goalkeeper Mitch Hildebrandt’s third of the year and 13th with FC Cincinnati.
On Wednesday, Cincinnati will host Louisville City FC in a third-round Lamar Hunt U.S. Ope Cup match. The next league match for FC Cincinnati will be at Rochester next Saturday.
