FC Cincinnati upsets Chicago Fire on penalty kicks

FC Cincinnati advances to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open Cup after upsetting yet another MLS team. After 120 minutes of play, FC Cincinnati and the Chicago Fire moved on to penalty kicks with FCC coming out on top, 3-1. Cincinnati goalkeeper Mitch Hildebrandt stopped three shots by Chicago to secure the win.

FCC took down the Fire in front of a crowd of 32,287 at Nippert Stadium. The club will advance to face the NASL’s Miami FC in Miami on July 12.
