In a U.S. Open Cup fourth round match, FC Cincinnati pulled off a 1-0 upset of MLS club Columbus Crew. The match was the first meeting between the two Ohio clubs.

FCC star striker Djiby Fall scored the games lone goal. He gave Cincinnati the lead with a header goal in the 64th minute. Columbus outshot Cincinnati 19-5 and had possession almost 60 percent of the match but was unable to find the back of the net.

FC Cincinnati won in front of a record crowd of 30,160, setting a Open Cup fourth round record. The previous record was 19,298 set in 2011 in a match between MLS’ Sporting Kansas City and USL’s Saint Louis FC.

Next up for FCC is another home match on Saturday night. They’ll host the Charleston Battery in a league match at Nippert. Charleston ended FCC’s season last year and also defeated the club in the home opener this year.
