FC CINCINNATI | FCC Wins Third Match in a Row

07/22/2017 11:09 PM

Not even a couple lightning delays could slow down FC Cincinnati on Saturday night, as the Orange and Blue beat the visiting Harrisburg City Islanders 3-0.

The victory is the third win in a row for FCC after its loss to Tampa Bay earlier this month.

The score was 0-0 just over halfway into the first half, when a lightning delay stopped the match.

Once play resumed, it didn’t take long for FC Cincinnati to take the lead. Djiby gave the Orange and Blue a 1-0 lead after scoring the match’s first goal in the 32’.

FCC led 1-0 at halftime.

It doubled its lead in the 70’ of the match, courtesy of a Danni Konig goal.

A little bit later, another lightning delay occurred. But as soon as the delay ended, FCC struck quickly, just like it did the first time.

Jimmy McLaughlin gave the team even more insurance in the 85’, when he scored FCC’s third goal of the match.

Up next for FC Cincinnati is an international friendly against La Liga’s Valencia CF. Kickoff is set 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday inside Nippert Stadium.
