MLS Commissioner Don Garber announced on Tuesday that Cincinnati has been awarded a Major League Soccer expansion team.

As a result, FC Cincinnati will be joining the MLS prior to the 2019 season.

FCC will continue to play at Nippert Stadium until its new 21,000-seat soccer-specific stadium in Cincy’s West End neighborhood is completed in 2021.

FC Cincinnati has been a part of the USL since its first year (2016).
