It was a long night at Nippert Stadium without a goal scored until the 115th minute. In the second overtime period, Djiby Fall headed a game winner to defeat AFC Cleveland and advance F.C. Cincinnati to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup.

FCC finished with 44 shots to Cleveland’s six. 16 of Cincinnati’s 44 shots were on frame. Djiby took at least 15 shots in his return to the field. He’s still in the middle of a six-match suspension in league play, but was eligible to play in tonight’s U.S. Open Cup match.

FC Cincinnati will host their third-round match versus Louisville City FC on May 31 at Nippert Stadium. Louisville advanced in a 9-0 win over Tartan Devils FC.
