The World Cup is not just international. It’s out of this world. U.S. astronauts Reid Wiseman and Steve Swanson work with German astronaut Alexander Gerst as part of a unified crew at the International Space Station, but when it comes to soccer, there may be a rift between co-workers. Their home countries, USA and Germany, will play each other on June 26 for a chance to advance from group play to the Round of 16. Wiseman, Swanson and Gerst will be watching the match from 230 miles above Earth, no doubt cheering hard and hoping for bragging rights for the next several months until their space expedition ends. The three astronauts sent this good luck message back to Earth to wish all the teams good luck.
