EKU set for season opener at Robert Morris

A year ago, EKU opened the college football season with a 38-6 blowout win over Robert Morris. The Colonels finished the season 6-6, but a three-game losing streak to end 2013 left a sour taste in the team’s mouth.

Kickoff to 2014 is now here, with EKU and Robert Morris once again playing each other in game one. It’s a little different this time though. The Colonials’ former defensive coordinator has taken over as the head coach, and the team will likely have a new look as a result.

EKU head coach Dean Hood knows there will be some similarities, but he isn’t quite sure what to expect when his team begins a new season at 7 p.m. in Moon Township, Pa.
