Former Kentucky Wildcat Michael Bradley has been let go as Eastern Kentucky University Assistant Basketball Coach. Bradley’s name and bio are no longer on the school’s website.
CN|2 Sports spoke Thursday night with EKU Athletic Director Steve Lochmueller, also a former UK athlete. On Bradley’s dismissal, Lochmueller would not give a specific reason but did say, “We do an evaluation of the program. [We] made a determination to move on without him.”
Lochmueller also said that EKU Head Basketball Coach Dan McHale has his full support.
“Coach McHale is my head coach and is going to be my head coach. He has my full support. We’re looking forward to the 2016-2017 year. [We] made a decision for the betterment of everyone, not just a few.”
Eastern Kentucky had a disappointing season in McHale’s first year, going 15-16 overall, 6-10 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Colonels finished ninth in the league, and only the top eight squads qualify for the conference tournament.
