EKU FOOTBALL | Kobie Grace Recognized Nationally by STATS

EKU safety Kobie Grace was recognized by STATS on Monday, as he was named the National Defensive Player of the Week.

Grace had seven tackles, one interception, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries on Saturday against Tennessee Tech. The Colonels won the game 24-21 to start 1-0 in Ohio Valley Conference play.

Grace is the first EKU football player to be named STATS National Defensive Player of the Week since Stanley Absanon on Sept. 7, 2014.

Grace’s teammate, punter Keith Wrzuszczak, was an honorable mention for STATS National Special Teams Player of the Week.

EKU is on the road this Saturday at Southeast Missouri St. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
