EKU FOOTBALL | Gets Big OVC Victory
10/09/2015 12:09 AM
Seems like EKU had a little bit of frustration to release, and they released it on Tennessee Tech. The Colonels piled up 629 yards of total offense in beating the Golden Eagles 48-17, at Georgetown College’s Toyota Stadium. The victory makes up, somewhat, for last weekend’s overtime loss at UK.
Junior QB Bennie Coney threw for a career high 351 yards and 5 touchdowns, while Senior Running Back Dy’Shawn Mobley rushed for 115 yards.
The Colonels have been through a lot off the field in the past week and a half, from the fatal auto accident that took the life of EKU defensive Lineman Joey Kraemer, to last weekend’s threats written on a campus bathroom wall, that forced EKU to go on lockdown, thus moving last nights game to Georgetown College.
With the win, the Colonels improve to 3-2 overall, 2-0 in the OVC, while Tennessee Tech drops to 2-4, 1-2 in conference. EKU’s next game is a week from Saturday (October 17th) at Southeast Missouri.
