EKU FOOTBALL | "Every single day, we've taken a step forward"

The Eastern Kentucky Football team have their eyes set on an Ohio Valley Conference Title and beyond under head coach Mark Elder. In his first season at the helm, Elder has managed to mesh the returning players from last year’s team with valuable transfers and freshmen to create a uptempo and competitive environment in Richmond.

He called his first practice of preseason camp one of the best he has seen as a college coach, and we wanted to hear how they have been since then. He said the team continues to take steps forward, and likes the competition from players trying to earn starting spots on the roster. Coach Elder joined cn|2 Sports via skype today to talk about his program, and we started by asking him about punter Keith Wrzuszczak who was recently named a preseason All-American.
