EKU FOOTBALL | Elder and Players Hopeful For Upcoming Season

07/25/2017 11:34 AM

Despite being picked to finish fifth in the OVC preseason poll at media days, the EKU football team is still very hopeful that they’ll have a good season this year.

Last year, the Colonels finished 3-8 and just 1-6 in the conference.

Head Coach Mark Elder says he returns plenty of players on defense. Those players endured the hardships of last season and have valuable experience. Elder added they have more depth this season.

Junior defensive lineman Aaron Patrick agreed, but added that there is always room for improvement. Jeffrey Canady, a senior linebacker, echoed Elder’s sentiments, and said he expects the team to really “come together”.

EKU begins their season on September second at WKU.
