EKU FOOTBALL | Dean Hood says his team will use the off-week to sharpen fundamentals

09/15/2015 07:30 PM

RICHMOND – The Colonels suffered a tough loss on the road against the Wolfpack of NC State. They failed to score a point but showed promise defensively in the first quarter as NC State also failed to get on the scoreboard. The FBS school won with a final score of 35-0 however and Colonel’s Coach Dean Hood says they are learning from the loss.

EKU returns to Richmond for their next game but it is not until September 26 when they take on Austin Peay for their OVC opener. Off-weeks are typically time for a school to address the health of the team, but with Eastern’s off-week so early in the season, Coach Hood is using it to sharpen team fundamentals and start their preparations for a postseason push.

We had coach in studio via Skype, and he told cn|2 Sports all about his team and what they learned from their matchup against the Wolfpack.
