The EKU community is still in shock after the sudden death of one of its football players. Joey Kraemer, 19 years old, died in a car accident shortly after EKU’s game against Austin Peay.

The Colonels are understandably in mourning after the tragic incident, but Kraemer’s teammates and coaches are turning to the sport he loved for consolation.

We talked with head coach Dean Hood about how the Colonels are moving forward in the midst of grief, and he explained how football is helping his players and staff heal.
