EKU FOOTBALL | Colonels Preparing for Second In-State Rivalry in a Row

09/05/2017 11:26 AM

The EKU Colonels fell in their season opener on Saturday, 31-17 to in-state foe Western Kentucky.

The good news though for Eastern Kentucky is that it has a chance to redeem itself this weekend against another in-state foe, when it takes on the Kentucky Wildcats.

Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET Saturday inside UK’s Kroger Field.

Spectrum News’ Andrew Chernoff caught up with EKU head coach Mark Elder on Tuesday to preview the match-up:

Kentucky leads the all-time series against EKU 4-0. In the two teams’ last meeting back in 2015, the Wildcats came back to beat the Colonels 34-27 in overtime.
