THE Eastern Kentucky football team lost its first Ohio Valley Conference game of the season Saturday night.

The Colonels fell 33-30 in overtime to Tennessee Tech on Saturday.

Tennessee Tech quarterback Micah Birdsong tossed the game-winning four-yard touchdown pass in overtime to Alex Carling after EKU was held to a field goal on its first overtime possession.

EKU head coach Mark Elder joined cn|2 Sports on Monday night via Skype. He spoke with Andrew Chernoff about Saturday’s loss and what he’s looking forward to this week when his team hosts Southeast Missouri State.
