The Eastern Kentucky Colonels picked up their first Ohio Valley Conference win of the season on Saturday, a 31-16 victory over Southeast Missouri St.

With the win, EKU improves to 2-3 overall this season, 1-1 in OVC play.

The victory was also the first conference win for new EKU head coach Mark Elder.

Elder spoke with cn|2 Sports this week via Skype about what the win means for his team and what his team needs to do in order to prepare for Tennessee St. this Saturday.
