EKU FOOTBALL | Colonels football exemplifies next man up mentality

The Eastern Kentucky football team is perfect in OVC and FCS play this season. They are currently ranked 13th in the nation and are riding the confidence of a three game win streak into their most important game of the season.

This Saturday the Colonels face off against the FCS’s top ranked team, Jacksonville State.

The most recent EKU victory was their homecoming win over Tennessee State, where freshman Ethan Thomas’ rushing performance earned him OVC newcomer of the week. Thomas was thrust into the workhorse role after Dy’Shawn Mobley was inactive due to illness, and Adam Lane left the game with a hamstring injury.

Head Coach Dean Hood says Thomas is just one example of the depth on this Colonel roster, and the responsibility of every player to be ready when their number is called.
