EKU FOOTBALL | Austin Peay has played some stiff competition to start the season

Eastern Kentucky University football is sitting at 1-1 to start the season with their most recent game against North Carolina State over a week ago. The Colonels are the beneficiary of an early bye week, and are using it to maximize their readiness for their Ohio Valley Conference opener against a hardened Austin Peay team.

The Governors are 0-3 to start the year but have faced tough competition in Southern Mississippi and Vanderbilt University. Colonel’s coach Dean Hood is aware that Peay’s non-conference schedule has done a lot to prepare the Governors for the trip to Richmond.

Coach Hood also gave cn|2 Sports the low down on how the Colonels are using their bye week to get healthy and prepare for a hungry Austin Peay team in pursuit of their first win.
