11/15/2017 12:38 PM

The EKU women’s cross country team is making program history.

The Colonels will be competing in this weekend’s NCAA Championships in Louisville. It’s the first-ever trip to the NCAA Championships for the EKU women’s program. In fact, the Colonels are the first-ever Ohio Valley Conference women’s team to advance to the NCAA Championships.

Eastern Kentucky advanced by earning one of the 13 at-large bids to the event.

EKU head coach Rick Erdmann and runner Charlotte Imer are each looking forward to the NCAA Championships:

The NCAA Championships takes place on Saturday, Nov. 18, inside Louisville’s E.P. “Tom” Sawyer Park.
