EKU ATHLETICS | Colonels Host Student-Athlete Talent Show

02/09/2017 05:53 PM

Eastern Kentucky hosted its annual student-athlete talent show on Wednesday night.

The event, known on campus as “Jock ‘N Roll,” raised money for the Ohio Valley Conference’s “Hoops for Heroes” initiative.

“I had to get my teammates involved,” said EKU women’s basketball player Amadi Brooks.

All the money raised from Wednesday’s show helps send a military veteran and his/her family to the OVC Basketball Tournament in Nashville.

This year’s “Jock ‘N Roll” fundraiser will send current EKU student Gage Colson and his wife to the tournament. Colson was part of the U.S. Infantry with the Marine Corps for four years.

The women’s basketball team was voted as having the best performance by the three judges in attendance. Men’s golf and women’s soccer finished second and third respectively.
