Eastern Kentucky University’s basketball players and staff teamed up with Habitat for Humanity recently to help deserving families in the area.

The team partnered with the organization through Habitat board member Webber Hamilton, an avid fan and supporter of the Colonels basketball program.

Head Coach Dan McHale said the experience helped his team connect with the community.

“My staff and players really enjoyed our time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity,” McHale said. “Webber Hamilton provided our guys an opportunity to give back to the community, while educating all of us on how important this service is to many families that are in need of homes across Eastern Kentucky.”

Assistant Coach Reece Gaines says the experience not only connected the team to the community but helped build team unity, as well.

Season tickets for 2015-16 Colonel basketball go on sale in September.
