Eastern Kentucky Colonels fall to Ball State Cardinals on the road, 14-41

Two turnovers and nine penalties in the first half put the Eastern Kentucky Colonels in a 27-point deficit on Saturday against the Ball State Cardinals, and they never recovered. The final score — 41-14.

EKU’s Devin Borders had 73 receiving yards, giving him 1,577 for his career — good for 10th on the all-time list at EKU.

The Colonels will have a week off before taking on Tennessee Tech in the first conference game of the season. Kickoff in Cookeville is scheduled for 7 p.m. on October 1.
