Devonte Fields is excited for his second chance

Devonte Fields spoke to the media today for the first time since becoming a Cardinal. The defensive end is a former Big 12 defensive player of the year for Texas Christian University. Fields was cut from the Horned Frogs after breaking the teams code of conduct policy, and after a year in the JUCO circuit, committed to play for Louisville. Fields said he feels he has been given a second chance, and is excited to play and earn his degree from UofL.

Fields is now part of a defensive front seven that Head Coach Bobby Petrino has said is the strongest part of the team. Defensive Coordinator Todd Grantham is happy with his guys also but says he still sees room for improvement.
