Devon Still gives an update on Leah

As the Bengals returned to Paul Brown Stadium today, Devon Still found his locker stacked with boxes and envelopes. He says the outpouring of support has given him and his family a huge lift.
He also gave an update on his 4-year-old daughter, Leah. She had a nearly six hour surgery last week to remove the tumor in her abdomen. Devon says she’ll be on her way home from the hospital Monday or Tuesday.
Though Leah’s surgery was successful, Devon tweeted last week “just to clear up some rumors… my daughter is not cancer free. Today was a big step towards that but still a long road ahead. She has stage 4 which means the cancer spread to her bone marrow which we hope will be removed with her next couple of treatments.” Even with the long road ahead, Devon acknowledges that this surgery was a huge weight off his shoulders.
Devon has continuously called his daughter “a fighter” when discussing her cancer, and Leah proved him right post-surgery.
On the way to her surgery, Devon gave Leah a pep talk, which he posted on Instagram and it caught national media attention. Did Devon have any idea that his pre-surgery pep talk would go viral?
Over the weekend, the Bengals announced that they’ll present a check for $1 million to the Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center for pediatric cancer research with the sales of Devon’s jersey at $100 each nearing the 10,000 mark. Devon said if the doctors pronounce Leah healthy enough to travel, she’d be at the Nov. 6 Bengals-Browns Thursday Night Football game where the check will be presented.
