Trojan Nation is a bay colt by Street Cry, out of the Summer Squall mare Storm Song, foaled on March 17, 2013. Trojan Nation has yet to find the winner’s circle in six career starts. With 40 points, Trojan Nation is No. 19 on the Kentucky Derby Leaderboard.

Trojan Nation is owned by Julie Gilbert & Aaron Sones, trained by Paddy Gallagher and ridden by Aaron Gryder. Gallagher’s lone Kentucky Derby starter, Domestic Dispute, finished 10th in 2003. Gryder’s biggest triumph to date was in the 2009 Dubai World Cup aboard Well Armed. He also co-founded the non-profit organization The Giving Circle, which connects donors with communities in need.

Kaci is a Production Specialist based out of the Northern Kentucky Spectrum News bureau. When she’s not working at the station she is covering high school sports, Bengals or EKU games for Sports Night, which airs weeknights at 6:30 and 10:30 on Spectrum News. She played basketball for Hope College in Michigan where she earned a degree in journalism. She says if she wasn’t covering athletics for a living, she’d still be up early checking scores and stats.
