Tom’s Ready is a dark bay colt by More Than Ready, out of the Broad Brush mare Goodbye Stranger, foaled on Feb. 1, 2013 in Pennsylvania. The last dark bay or brown horse to win the Kentucky Derby was Street Sense in 2007. With 44 points, Tom’s Ready is No. 16 on the Kentucky Derby Leaderboard.

Tom’s Ready is owned by GMB Racing, trained by Dallas Stewart, and ridden by Brian Hernandez, Jr. Stewart finished second in the Kentucky Derby two years in a row with long shots Golden Soul (2013, 34-1) and Commanding Curve (2014, 37-1). Hernandez Jr. won the 2012 Breeders’ Cup Classic aboard Fort Larned on his 27th birthday. Tom’s Ready will be his first Kentucky Derby mount.
