Charlie Strong on UofL's Win Over West Virginia

The Louisville Cardinals pulled a stunner on Saturday, beating Number 24 West Virginia 38-35 to win its third consecutive game and stay alive in the race for the Big East title. The victory in Morgantown is the Cards’ first since 1990, dropping the preseason favorites out of the top 25 and out of the conference race. U of L coach Charlie Strong says he told his team to remain focused … and they did.
Strong is already looking ahead at the weekend’s matchup against Pittsburgh, telling his team that they have a lot of work ahead of them if they want to be bowl bound at the end of the season.
U of L defensive end Greg Scruggs, who is one of 16 seniors playing their final home game on Saturday, says the Cards won’t come to the field Saturday with the big heads this time.
But Scruggs also says the team is starting to get their confidence back, and are looking to impress not only their coach, but the fans, as well.
The Cards could get a share of first place when Pittsburgh visits Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium on Saturday.
